Parent Consultation

Your child’s special education needs and services are complex and unique. Here are some of the ways I can help you help your child as a Parent Consultant:

  • Help you understand your child’s basic rights.
  • Help you to understand your procedural safeguards.
  • Clarify Massachusetts State and Federal Regulations.
  • Guide you through your child’s Individual Education Program (IEP) and the IEP Process.
  • Help you understand your child’s rights and services under Section 504.
  • Help you understand the different types of relevant evaluations (educational, neuropsychological, psychological, speech and language, FBA etc); what to ask for; and, what the results and recommendations mean.
  • Assist in organizing your child’s educational records and documents.
  • Help you identify and ask for appropriate accommodations for your child.
  • Help you understand and request or challenge modifications for your child.
  • Help you and your child understand the essentials of inclusion, transition and related services. and ensure that they are addressed in the IEP.
